M Saifur Rahman was the Hero of Bangladesh

M Saifur Rahman was our hero. The Hero of Bangladesh. Little we know about his vast works that he proudly done throughout his life. He was a member of the World’s Economic Think Tank.

He participated in the Language Movement in 1952 when he was the vice-president of Dhaka Muslim Hall for which he also had to land in jail.

It’s a great tragedy that he was not buried with the dignity he so much deserved. The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina did not even show the least courtesy giving her condolence. How poor narrow minded it is.

But we are a great nation and well deserve a decent broadminded Prime Minister.

M Saifur Rahman blog following Channel S News

Following the Channel S news last night, I been thorough www.msaifurrahman.blogspot.com site. I can see some good thoughts.

However one particular issue raised on the lead article by Shofi Ahmed and supporting comment by Abu Taher Chowdhury about the Prime Minister Hasina’s stance on the death of Mr Rahman perhaps worth our attentions. I am therefore not afraid to email my remark to tons of British Bangladeshi professionals and post it to the blog.

Politics is not my cup of tea what bothers me is Bangladesh and its people. Recently, the whole nation stood united. Twice we were mourning and deeply sad. Once when our best forces were ruthlessly killed and Prime Minster Hasina, her government is yet to bring the murderers to justice we sadly united, stood together once more.

Again one more harrowing death had us stood united. But yet again prime minister Hasina made a u turn. She did not join the nation offering condolence to someone whose contribution for the country is undeniable. She failed to lead us when we were united.

Now the plea I have is the political water in Bangladesh maybe dirty but we are in Britain. Can we overcome our party political affiliation and praise and condemn our leaders back in Bangladesh when they deserve it.
